Review for ‘No More Birthdays’:

What I learned? Never doubt the greatness of a thriller novel. Carol Ann Baker also known as Lilly lives a life where taking risks is second nature. Right before is her love for danger and the darkness that roams the world searching a victim.

Characters: Lilly the runaway teen is stubborn and her decisions make her quite pathetic. Everyone else but her realizes it. She craves attention from ones who want nothing to do with her while others like Davis want to rescue her. Doing the unthinkable because she had too much pride to give into a generous offer Davis presented. She is a roller coaster without the brakes. Although she wasn’t the ideal character I normally encounter in a crime novel, she is someone I want to know more about right away!

Davis, a female detective, is the only one who wants to help Lilly and I admire her for that. She keeps trying not knowing the truth about ‘Carol Ann’ , but from what she already does is persistent nonetheless. She like Lilly want Bobby. May be for opposite reasons but the more Lilly reaches closer, the more information Davis gets.

Bobby does not deserve me describing what a pain in the arse he is. The old geezer should be in jail yet he’s sliding his way through life with a margarita the size of a toddler in his filthy wealthy hand.

(Tears are still shed for Cory Monteith from Glee– R.I.P beautiful angel.)

Plot: Although this wasn’t a typical crime novel, the thrill was there. At points I felt lost on who was saying what but maybe that’s my lack of sleep talking. I’ll let you decide on that. Next off I wouldn’t hold back on reading the next novel because I’m sure Lissa Pelzer has a lot of surprises yet to be exposed, questions to be answered, and maybe an expected ending to twist! Besides if this were a standalone book I would’ve been miserable. I mean in the end I’m yearning for Lilly to get it straightened out and pull herself together. Only reading will tell! The anticipation is slapping me on my forehead begging to be listened to.
